SUMMARY:South Asian Men's Mental Health Forum | Addictions
DESCRIPTION:It’s time to talk about men’s mental health on January 28th\, 2021. It is time to breakdown the stigma and encourage men to seek help.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nOn January 28th\, 2021\, we are going to bring together men\, women\, and the community to share their experiences and discuss their points of view on Addiction. \nThe goal is to make a positive change\, to have a healthy community conversation surround what is means to be a male in today’s day and age. Our goal is to facilitate an open dialogue to pull back the curtain on the stigma surrounding mental health. \nSOCH is a mental health promotion initiative started by two registered nurses from Brampton\, tailored at providing the South Asian community with education\, awareness\, and resiliency for mental health. As a community initiative\, SOCH’s aim is to first ‘start the mental health conversation’ to break the stigma in the South Asian community and second\, to empower the community with the skills and knowledge to navigate the mental health system\, support loved ones\, and most importantly\, take a preventative approach to care for one’s overall well being. \nWe as South Asian males should be encouraged to learn more about the symptoms and signs of mental health problems and for men to have the opportunity to share about their lives. Mental illness affects everyone and knows no boundaries\, we should all be comfortable seeking help when needed. \nPlease note\, this event is open to everyone. \n**Event webinar link will be emailed to you**

SUMMARY:Sunehri SOCH- What you think you create
DESCRIPTION:A welcoming space for adult South Asian women to connect\, share their experiences\, and explore their emotional and mental well-being.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\n“A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create\, nurture and transform.” – Diane Mariechild \nBut even the full circle needs another circle to connect with and respond on a deep level. \nThat’s exactly what Sunehri Soch is. It is a circle\, a group\, a vibrant friendly community of empowered women from all axes of life\, supporting one another and find the meaning of true joy every day. This online group is open to all women\, however we are focusing on South Asian women who are 45+. \nWomen spend their lives caring for and loving their families. It is finally time to discover the need and the importance of self-care. When we pay attention to our interests and find joy in things we might have forgotten along the way\, we are able to feel so much better about ourselves. We look forward to meeting some amazing women who are looking to bring their talents/experiences and share them with others. \nPlease share this event with your moms and aunts and anybody in need for a group that is beyond the small talk. \nDetails \nVirtual Meet-Up – Sunday Bi-Weekly \nTime: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM EST \nLanguage: Hindi\, Punjabi\, Urdu & English \nPlease register and a Zoom link will be sent to you. \nJoin Our Facebook Group – SunehriSoch : www.facebook.com/groups/sunehrisoch/
