Caregiving during COVID-19: Understanding Male Perspectives

February 26, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

We will share the experiences and perspectives of South Asian men settling into parenthood or caregiver roles during the pandemic.

About this Event

On February 26th, 2021 we are going to bring together men from across the South Asian community to share their experiences and perspectives on settling into parenthood, or any personal caregiving role, during the pandemic and ways of providing and finding support during these challenging times.

The goal is to make a positive change and to have an educational event about men’s mental health. We will be featuring a diversity of perspectives to foster open dialogue in partnership with the SOCH mental health team.

Event Agenda:

• General mental health discussion and group facilitation

• Achieving balance in terms of managing children, career, culture and caregiver expectations, including the importance of self-care

The South Asian community should be encouraged to learn more about the symptoms and signs of mental health problems and for men to have the opportunity to share about their lives. Mental illness affects everyone and knows no boundaries; all persons should all be comfortable seeking help when needed.
